The Master Sword

A master sword is forged by tempering the blade right up until just before breaking point then stopping.

The blade must be first heated and then beaten and formed to shape. All imperfection and weak points must be removed.

It then needs to be heated and quenched right up until the point of breaking to create the hardest and most dense material possible.

This can only be achieved by a master level blacksmith that has intricate knowledge of what he is working with and what it's limits are.

If the blacksmith gets it wrong and goes too far, the blade will break and everything done was a waste.

Jesus is that master blacksmith and you are the blade. Trust him. He's forging a master weapon out of you. He never goes too far, He never makes mistakes. He knows exactly what He is doing and what He is working with.

He promises in the Bible that a bruised reed he will not break and a dimly lit candle he will not put out.

The Bible also says "He knows our frame and remembers that we are just dust". He knows our limits better than we ever will.

Jesus knows this process is painful, uncomfortable and inconvenient but he also knows our limits and what we are truly capable of. Trust the master blacksmith that he knows what he's doing even if we don't.

He will not break the blade and he will not abandon you. Trust the process. Trust the master.

Isaiah 42:3
A bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; He will faithfully bring forth justice.
