Steps for new believers...

Get around other believers
It will make you strong and encourage your spirit. Church is a great place to start - find a good church and plan to attend regularly. Pray to God and ask Him to show you a good church. Share your heart with good people there. Don't be afraid - God loves you and will provide good people to come along side you and help you to know Him better. God will reveal Himself to you more and more every day. Keep seeking Him and you'll find more and more of Him. He loves you and wants you to know Him. A good church will also teach you more about God, His ways and how to know Him better.

Read the bible
It's one of the ways God talks to us and teaches us about Him and His ways. His Word is extremely powerful. Even if you don't understand it at first, read it anyway - it speaks to your spirit not your mind. The bible is actually God himself and is the living Word of God. Your mind will understand once God reveals His truths to your spirit. I use a daily bible reading app on my phone that works really well. You can also get the bible as an app on your phone too which is really useful.

Pray to God
Ask Him for the things you need, tell Him your problems, thank Him for the good things He's done. There's no correct way to pray apart from honouring God and seeking Him. Prayer is just talking to God. Don't be too surprised if He talks back. He talks to me all the time and tells me stacks of stuff - He's the best. Prayer is all about relationship. It's a two way street between God and you. Just start talking to Him and He will hear you. Soon you'll have the peace of God in your heart and your life will change dramatically.

Feed your spirit in the things of God
I have a daily devotional that I get emailed every day as well as a daily bible verse that really helps me to keep my heart aligned to God and His ways. There are hundreds of daily verse and devotional apps for smartphones + stacks of great websites out there. Feel free to contact me if you need some help in finding some good, solid and encouraging resources to feed your spirit with.

Know your enemy
Once you believe in God you are part of an army. An army used to set captives free from the lies of our enemy the devil. He doesnt want you to do this and will try to stop you at all costs - but don't fear, Jesus beat him on the cross and gladly hands you His victory for each situation every time you ask Him. Some of the ways the devil tries to prevent God's army is discouragment, temptation and fear. God is greater than all these things. Lean on Him, He always makes a way for you to escape and have the victory He wants for you. He also has immeasurable forgiveness for us when we do fail - no matter how badly we fail. So you have nothing to lose if you stick with God. He'll stick with you through the best and the worst - He promises it - and He never breaks a promise.

And most of all, Always remember God loves you
